Working with Forms

Insert a Form
  1. Go to Insert / Form / Form. Then it's as simple as going back to Insert / Form / and choosing what form elements you want.
  2. Right-click on the form elements and choose Form Field Properties to change the values. Choose Form Properties to modify what the form does.
Feedback Forms

FrontPage 2000 comes with a generic form for feedback.

  • Create a new page [File / New / Page] and use the feedback form template.
  • Right-click and choose Form Properties to change things like what e-mail address to send the information to, etc.

Q: Can I use a form I created in another application?

A: Never create a form in another program like Word or Publisher; these programs will add code that is not compatible with FrontPage. We suggest you create the form in FrontPage only or use a compatible ASP script such as FormMail or CGI script recommended by your web host.

Q: How do I pull the Form I created on a new page into the template layout?

A: This can be a little tricky, but it is well worth the effort. There are just a few things you need to remember when you copy and paste it over to the layout.

  1. Be sure the get all the form when you copy it from the new form page you created.
    1. Click on the HTML tab at the bottom of the page.
    2. Highlight all the form information including the <form> and </form> tags, right click/copy
    3. open the page you want the form to appear on and place your curser where you want the form to start, right click. paste special/choose Treat as HTML.
    4. You can now make any changes you like to the form properties.
